Effective Online Business Article Marketing Techniques

July 7th, 2008 | by Mark |

Although online business article marketing is a relatively simple method of generating traffic, many people find it difficult to get good results with their article marketing campaigns. It’s not enough to simply research keywords, write articles, and submit them to the article directories.

Effective article marketing requires a good strategy and a firm grasp of several concepts, including human emotions and habits. One of the most important things to keep in mind is that you need to consistently produce quality articles with excellent information.

Many people worry too much about keywords and writing articles in bulk. They think it’s enough to just pump out hundreds of short articles that stuff in keywords but don’t really say anything that makes the reader walk away feeling as if they got value for the time they spent reading your content.

Article marketing to build your internet business isn’t about bulk unless you’re going solely for backlinks. Backlinks are good, but it’s much more effective to make full use of the articles you’re submitting.

You can do this by providing very high quality information in order to establish yourself as an authority in your chosen niche.

By establishing yourself as an authority, people will be more likely to trust the information you provide and want to visit your site to read more of your articles. There are several types of articles that work well in article marketing.

Each one has the power to brand you as the go-to person in your niche, inspire curiosity in your readers, and get more clicks on the links in your bio box. The first type of article that’s very effective is the type that answers a question.

Let’s say your online business niche is golf. You may know that a lot of golfers want to know how they can shave strokes off their game. Your article title might be, “Can You Really Shave 3 Strokes Off Your Golf Game in One Week?”

Then you can answer the question for them by explaining how they can do it. If you can answer some of the market’s most burning questions, you’ll instantly establish yourself as an authority and you’ll gain their respect and trust.

Another effective type of slant is the list. Lists are very popular because they have the power to condense a lot of information into a very short space. Most people are very busy these days. Anything you can do to provide them the information they need quickly and easily will make them appreciate you.

Using the golf niche as an example again, your article title might be something like, “7 Must-Have Golf Gadgets for 2008.” Each of the points in your article only needs to be about a paragraph and anyone who needs more information about any of the specific topics can visit your website for further clarification. In fact, this is a powerful way to get people to click the links in your bio box.

Multi-part articles are another extremely effective article slant. You write a very interesting article and only submit part one to the article directories, linking to part two in your bio box. If you build enough interest in the first part but don’t give enough away, you’ll have the potential to get a phenomenal amount of clicks to your domain.
